Our neighbor(also Mom's cousin)bought a new 97 model 6 row hugger to put on his 82 model M2, needed a Bisch adapter and included shaft length changes for both sides. This was nearly $1800 for the adapter and shaft changes plus the header, $22000.00 total comes to mind back then. I think with a Bisch adapter and shaft length change with u-joints and compatable wiring harness you will be in business, however the setup will be long to the left side of the machine because R model feeders are on the right side. If you have a decent series 3 pan that is worn out, you might consider rebuilding it, you can get feather sheets, main belly sheets and anything needed from Agco, we totally rebuilt ours, every bearing, sprocket and sheet for less than $1800 three years ago. We didnt change out the row dividers but understand series 500 dividers will work on a series three pan. Good luck Gleamer
