Combines Float option on 2188

The float option was designed for european headers, so just pretend it is not there.

I played around a little with the float option, but I can't see it working well unless the whole bottom of the head is covered with poly. There is too much ground pressure for the standard head, atleast if the ground is soft at all. It might work better is the combine is moving really slowIJ I would like to hear about how they use this in Europe.

float works well on 1010 rigid head in soybeans an down in south lA. where old rice levees from previous year are partially leveled ground is unlevel float allows you to float over hills with the rigid head also if you have a field tracker we loop a hydro hose at manifold from one outlet to the other with a ball valve between the two, open valve will allow the tracker to move freely side to side over uneven ground when using tracker with flex head or for above ground cutting or transport just open door at valve bank outside of cab door and close loop valve , we are using ours now with the drapper header

With tracker, that makes sense. We don't have that option, so one side of the header was wanting to dig in on a 1010 header unless the ground was perfectly flat.

Thanks for the input. Now I want to know what parts are needed to add float to my 2188s. Thanks, Dan
