you need to take a close look at the stalk rolls, stripper plates, ect. I thought my 1060 head was in good shape until service man looked it over. The head is not doing its job if you have more than just ears going to the feed house.

Run stripper plates as wide as possible to try and let as much trash go through them as possible instead of into the head. I have hyd. deck plates on my Deere head and I can really change the amount of trash coming into the head just by moving them in or out.
