Combines Ford 7 8l vs 7 5l Genesis

The 7.8l was a very good engine.The 7.5l is even better - more horsepower, better fuel economy, just as reliable as the 7.8l. Both real good engines, the newer of the 2, the 7.5 is the better one though. During the TR97 is when they changed over to the 7.5l. Easier to change engine oil on the 7.5 - only 1 filter and it is mounted at the rear side by the muffler bracket, not inside the hopper anymore.

I have had both also. Both good. Genesis may have more torque rise in it's hp. It seems to use less fuel also. Moving that oil filter was very nice of them also. I almost was going to trade to a different brand of combine because of where the oil filter used to be. Ilnh

Both are good engines, but i like the genises the best. Oil filter was a good move.
