Picked up a skunk roost back in about '96 while running a 9600 picking up swaths. Man what a gawd awful smell that was. Had to run the rest of the afternoon with the door open and the door stayed open overnight also. I'll never forget that. It ruined about 200 bu. of grain as well.

Mine ate a portable phone. That was my decision. I ended up eating it. It was still a good idea.

Well back in the 2003 season a guy almost ate up a wild boar i think they were called javelinas. This was down near corpus christi texas cuttin milo, with a 9750. Then this summer of 04 i picked up 3 or 4 small birds and i thot well thats it for them, it turns out they survived going thru a 9660. I saw them flopping around on the next pass around. later i think i saw a coyote or something pick them up.

Years ago, our custom operator picked up a saddle, while picking up windrows. We were picking up wheat swaths in rented land, on land rented from an Indian Reserve. Needless to say, a horse was also walking around looking at the combines in the field. Everyone joked at the operator, that the horse wanted his saddle back. The operator still keeps the horn of the saddle as a souvinier, as it took him 2 hours to unplug the cylinder, which the leather unraveld, and twisted around.

This happened to my neighbours they had broke some of the disappering fingers on the pickup header. Well of course they were in a rush to get going and forgot the socket set and some other wrenches in the windrow from the repair job. They engaged the seperator and WOW they had sockets coming in the grain tank and out the back and wrenches banging around the inside it was a mess. I think the combine was a 9750 STS.

A nieghbor of ours got his hired man in the combine a few of years ago. Alcohol + harvesting time = an accident waiting to happen. Nuff said.

I forgot to mention two of the things I guess. First was a NWS "weather ballon" and sensors. The strangest would have to be a 10' x 3' round plastic pool in the middle of a quarter of corn. Funny thing was, the night the tenants lost it, it was full when the storm hit. Thank G o d it only got caught in the corn head and not into the combine.
