As to the oat straw I don't think there was any change, the last two years we have had rains on the swath before combining and the straw went to flour, if you combine oats before a rain the straw is tough and doesn't cut up very good, also is a lot harder to put thru, the biggest thing we noticed with the marlin ears was no more hot front rotor bearing support bar, a small amount of increased capacity due to less HP required, still enough suction that no dust was getting out the front of the feeder house. I still had a lot of problems with feeding and rumble in the edible beans and soybeans last fall so we up to pushing in the new AFX rotor tomorrow morning, I hope it as good as they claim. I want to upgrade but first want to know this rotor is better. If you have any more questions just ask. Have a good one, Ed
