Combines Fuel Cap

I think your biggest worry is that debris will either cover the outlet of the tank or get stuck in the fuel line. We have one machine with some stuff in the tank. If you lose power break the fuel line and blow compressed air back into the tank. We've only had to do this twice that I can recall, but the flow though the line increased noticably after blowing it out. last season it ran fine. If you find that you have to do this all the time, you'll probably need to clean the tank.

I think we all know someone this has happened to.When my engine started to die I took the fuel line off the tap on the bottom of the tank and put the air compressor in the filler. I blew the crud out and no more dramas.

We had a machine come across our lot this year with chaff in the tank. We found out after it was rented out and would not run. Drained the tank and blew out the lines and refueled but the problem persisted. We had an older gentleman from pro harvest there and he told us to drain the fuel remove the fuel lines and plug the holes. then fill the tank with water and the chaff will float out. You can't get it all by simply draining the fuel tank and flushing it as the fuel will keep it on the side of the tank. I added a little dawn dish soap to it to help break up the fuel oil on the sides of the tank. We left the water run for an hour or better. Boy did the stuff come out of that tank. Of course we blew out the lines again and cleaned the screen in the bottom of the tank and threw in a regulated air hose to dry the tank but we got it this time.
