We have just completed our wheat harvest here in SW Ontario. My cost in 2004 was $2.05_ac, 2005 was $3.49_ac which translates into an increase of 70%. These figures are with a 2166 with a 25' 1020 harvesting approxitmatly 9 acres_hr.

That's OK - I'm sure the price of wheat is up 70% to compensate. Ha! Actually not very funny - going to make a lot of us go broke or quit.

No there is nothing under CAP as far as I am aware. However the UK is at the lower end of the agricultural diesel spectrum in terms of price and it would not be a surprise if Mr Blair and his friends take us to a parity fairly soon. In the last year our government have reassessed our "red diesel" rules and we wait with baited breath to see what happens Cheers BB
