Thanks for you comments on the solenoid valve. We never figured on the solenoid failure, but knew the engine was slower starting than it had been. One day just out of frustration, we put a meter on the solenoid and found an open coil. Next day we had a new solenoid and the first start after the change proved that little unit was the cause. I think we started wonder about the coil because there was no black smoke when it first fired on a warm motor. I said fuel boost, but believe it only overrides the aneroid stop for low turbo boost. This year we solved another slow start problem. We figured the starter was going west, but it turned out to be a bad connector. The cable to the second battery was open at the connector on the first battery. It looked good but wouldn't pass current.
