We have the FT3s on two 2388s. They are wonderful. No problems, easy install, and they dont add much overall length to the auger. A must have for 30 platforms dumping on the go into a big cart.
Why are you running out of timeIJ Are these things you need or are you just trying to create expenses to save on income taxIJIJ If you are planning on purchasinng them regardless of time frame I can understand why 'year end' is an issue. If not, then I question why you want to spend money for the simple reason of saving taxesIJ Ie why spend $5000 just to save $2000.. you're still out of pocket more (3000) then if you had done nothing and simply paid the tax( 1000)
We have portable fuel tanks, but it would be nice to only have to fuel in the morning. We are always dumping on the go and the longer auger seems like pretty cheap insurance, especially for newer operators. We can continue to get by without them, but they would be nice.....not sure if that means we "need" them or notIJ
I just put on the long ranger fuel tank last year and have no problems. Installs easily. The extra 37 gallons is nice to get through the day. Good luck. Steve
Mike, We put a Mauer(Stewart Steel) FT-3 on our 03 2388 this past season, really worked well. The duals on grain cart tractor ran 60" away from the outside row on our 12 row corn hd. That means it is far enough away to be a good comfortable distance running along side a 30' 1020 header cutting soybeans or a 30' 1010 header cutting small grains. I'd highly recommend one. There are several custom cutters using them with 36' drapers. My 2 cents worth.------ Jim
