A NEW JD full finger auger part no.AH205647 20-foot auger preasembled with bearings and shafts is $3050 (thats what I'd paid) Then what I did was adapt the end shafts to the IH head. Hope this sets off a light bulb above your head or header (no pun intended) My next project is to play with auger speed, I'd done this with dad's Gleaner with positive results, just can't over speed the auger. You can tell when the auger is too slow,it just comes in too slow which is a good way to get a big wad under the auger and bend the auger. By the way the new JD auger is made with a thicker skin.

Why would you want to play with the auger speed after you installed the Full fingerIJ Once the beans are under the auger their gone and no more shattering!! Your commentIJ JWK

Some Gleaner augers had slow pitch flighting, 24inch vs 30inch so you speed up the auger on a 24inch to gain more ground speed.

Yes that is true. The kit for a 25' head is $4600 and the 30' is just over $5100 CND from the dealers.

I have not run one. But I have looked at a couple of them. I am having my dealer give me a quote on putting a 8200 auger in mine, and a prodrive. That is the only difference I can see. It does have the single point hookup, but that is another 800 for the kit to convert my combine to that.I have a 2005 8000 so with the auger and pro drive I think I would have the same thing other then the shield that says 8200 and the ugly dark gray paint IG

What is the pro driveIJ We bought a 2005 R75 today and ordered 8200 header for it. I guess we will have to get the single point adaptor.

Did you get a 30 or a 35 IJ The pro drive takes the place of the wobble box. Takes the vibration from the back and forth motion of the wobble box.The pro drive is a gear box. Thus it doesnt stop and change directions. As I understand it,it is standard on the 8200.The finger auger and pro drive are a little over 7000.00 dollars to put on my 30ft.I bought a 2005 R75 this week also. I am either going to a 35 ft 8200 or making my 30 8000 into a 8200. My problem is I have only 1000 acres on my 8000. Did you get a turrent or swivel auger on yoursIJ Mine has the turrent, only because I couldnt find one with the swivel IG

Sounds equip just about like mine. I found 2 new 05's with swivel, but they were out west. This one has 150 rental hours so there was no comparison in the price.
