Did you try speeding up the variable speed to see if the G would moveIJ I have an F2 that will come to a dead stop and squeal when in the slow speed end of the variable speed.
I wouldn't spend to much tring to repair. I know we have some G's sinking into the earth with just fine trannys. I don't think you'ld have to much trouble finding one somewhere that is allready removed. Good luck
