Combines G vs M

JBull, If they are in good shape, either sounds about right. You didn't say what size heads, but I'm guessing 18' or 20', since you need trailers, and probably rigid. You didn't indicate whether they had bin extensions or larger tire sizes, as that could make a difference on value. Capacity wise, they should be comparable, but the 'M' should be nicer to run, with the electric_hydraulic controls. Of course, that demands greater skill at troubleshooting electrical systems, once the mice get ahold of them! The 'G's probably have the 120 hp. engine, and the 'M' should go at 130 hp. The hydro is sure nice. Be sure to check the condition of the cylinder bars and concaves, as well as the general condition of belts, bearings, tires, etc. Any way you could justify getting both setsIJ Three machines would sure knock out 300 acres in a hurry, and would pay for themselves in just a couple of years, figuring $12-$15_A harvest bill. Some years, being able to get the crop out in two or three days would quickly pay for the machines, especially when hail hits! Granted, a custom combiner could easily cut your acres in a day, depending on how it lays, but he might not be there when your crop was ready. And, you would miss out on the fun of running your own combine (or the aggrevation, depending on how things go)! Gleanerpilot

look at the picture real close. He has 3 G's and probably 1 1_2 might run good and one M that probably runs good to great. They are about equal in capacity but the G's around here could have easily been painted lemon yellow. lots of failure on the G that the M never experienced. The G is an oversized CII, the M is a totally different machine internally. Price sounds right for the machines.
