Combines gas flooding problems on 615 IHC combine 263 c i

Dear Brian, Your problem may be with the ignition, and not the fuel. I would suggest checking plug wire order, timing, and if the distributor was removed, if it was replaced correctly. It seems to me that the 263 will kinda-sorta run with any combination of air, gas, and spark. A great tribute to IH, but it makes problems hard to diagnose. Does the 715 have a govenorIJ If so, That might be important to check. Good luck.

problem in timing, i have a 715 that does ssame thing time to time. loosen distributor if you can get it started. rotate left or right til sounds good. put under load, adjust to max performance. if hex is severly worn, points won't open enough. i've replaced mine once on 8700 hours. let me know if any help krod.

Are you saying you have got 8700 hours on a 715 combine. That must be a record. I had two of them and from what I have seen most were pretty well shot after 3000 hours (corn and soybeans).

All one day years ago we fought what we thought was carb problems on a 403 gas and it turned out to simply be a bad coil.
