You will need to change your header drive belt to the kevlar style belt. That should be the only changes that you will need to make. Where are you fromIJIJ We just took on the dealership for these heads. I think that you will be very impressed with the job that they do.

I've heard that they make a cast pulley for the lower drive shaft (the one that drives the header)instead of a tin one. Do you think that is necessaryIJ Also, do you think both feeder drive belts should be kevlar or just the top oneIJ By the way,I'm from Minnesota.

Here is their web site. IMO there ain't no free lunch, and this is going to be tough on the header drive.

You have any intrest in a harvestec headIJ I have one on the lot that I have been "demoing" (On my corn.) It does a wonderful job. you can get it with stalk knives or with out. I have run it side by side with my 1083 and old worn out 983 and it does everything that 1083 will as far as speed and residue handling. also about $22,000 will buy a poly snout 8-row. they are nearly the same head as 2001 2002 massey and new gleaner heads with much different snapping rolls and gathering chain set ups they have a,to be frank crappy web site at harvestec.com check it out.
