Combines get rid of mice in cab

We open up all the doors and windows in our cabs and take off any removeable panels so as to open up every little nook where the critters can hide. This seems to work. For good measure, we also put a polystyrene cup full of rodent-bait-poison inside the cab. This works quite well

Another trick is to make the place smell by using a lot of air fresheners. I buy a three pack of the tree air fresheners and throw them in the cab before I close the door for the winter. Mice have a vert sensitive nose and can't stand very powerful smells

Thanks for your help. Yesterday I put about 10 scented dryer sheets all around the cab. I hope it keeps the mice out, but at least the cab smells a lot better!

Try to get ahold of a product called Fresh Cab.It was developed by a farm wife especially for this purpose.It is made from ground corn cobs in a tea-bag type bag that has a potpourri type smell.Very nice to us.However,with a mouse's keen sense of smell,it doesn't care for it.I will try to get the web address,but you may be able to do a search and come up with it on your own.I'm just saying that there is a product made just for this situation.

Those scented dryer sheets will make nice mouse nests!! Put some Green Anti-Freeze in a shallow pan, the mice like the drink and it kills them. Kills dogs and cats too, so be carefull. Using a 10ft pole with a water bottle filled with anti-freeze Skunks in the live trap get wetted down the next day there dead...no odor...

I have tried Fresh Cab and while I won't say it's a waste of money, once you have had mice in your cab it won't keep them out. Our grain truck has been plagued for 3 years now. I put Fresh Cab in this spring and the mice ate it. Putting a mouse trap on the floor got the bugger. So here's my two cents. $.99 mouse trap or $18.00 (CDN) for Fresh Cab. Do the math.
