What is spelt, a question that i have heard a thousand times. We farm organically and an organic mill asked us to grow it. It it is a cousin to wheat, except that the stalk is taller, it yields around 100 to 120 bushel per acre, and when you thrash it, the hull stays with it like oats, the actual kernel looks a lot like wheat

I seem to recall having similar trouble with that cylinder speed crank arrangement on a used machine I bought. In my case, the previous owner was a bit stingy with grease and all it needed was a thorough cleaning and greasing per the service manual. After that I had no further trouble. Regarding the metal curtain over the raddle: I found that it had to be in the down position for wheat and in the mid position for soys and up for corn. The Pacer was very helpful reminding me when I had forgotten to lower it in lighter crops. Maybe there were other things I could have done to the cylinder and thresher area to make the curtain unnecessary. But I was in an area where nobody knew of Hyperizing etc. I may still have an l_M service manual that I should sell. Email if you are interested. Tom in MN

Take the cylinder speed adjusting chain off and soak it in a bucket of penetrating oil or replace with a new chain. Repack the hub on the variable speed cylinder drive sheave (is like a wheel bearing) and lube the crank shaft at the cab. If everying is lubed properly you should be able to adjust the cylinder speed under load with two fingers on the crank -- no more standing up and using both hands! It turns even easier if you let the cylider empty out first. It really is a good, trouble-free design with a little oil now and then.

on the cyl speed adj make sure where the support comes on the lower end shows a space between sprocket and the hub if not the lock ring inside is broke that holds the bearing in place makes em real hard to change speeds all you got to do is put lock ring back in and weld it in with a mig
