Combines getting hot

'96 r62 combines were updated under fe839...on as needed basis.. you might get a copy of that bulletin from you dealer and see if will apply to your machine.....I don't think we had any problems till 1996...what iwas told by cummins guy was that cummins made some changes to all ther engines (regaurdless of application, versatile, gleaner, case ect..)to meet epa standards...he said cummins told all the mfg's that the engines were going to run hotter,but may have under estimated how much, therfore the mfg's didn't think it was nessasary to upgrade the cooling system... at least that is what i was told.. engine to pump timing could be your problem

Maybe you should pull the small hose and fittings off inbetween head and top tank of radiator to see there isn't any plugage. The small hose is there to vent off the air. Good luck.
