Combines Gibson Industries Accelerator Rolls

Can't comment on the Gidsonindustriesltd elastomer accelerator rolls but an Australian company tried to make accelerator roll sections using a similar "long lasting, hard wearing" red coloured plastic or elastomer. We tried them as they were a lot cheaper. They lasted less than a normal season by which time they were worn out. For comparison, the AGCO rubber covered sections will last 2 or 3 seasons. We have gone back to using the AGCO rubber covered sections and gulp hard when they have to be replaced.

Sorry I can't give you any first hand info. I did talk to a guy that had installed some and he hadn't had to replace any yet. I got a set but got them to late to get into a custom harvesters machine this year. I'm going to try find the right place for them to get a good comparison with stock. I have a custom harvest machine that I just changed out the rolls and half of them were red and others black. If they were all red I wouldn't of had to change for another year or more. Don't know if they were Gibson rolls. I'm going to try track down where they come from after harvest when I have some time. Take care.
