I have been planting Pioneer for 4 years now, we also plant some Dairyland. Pioneer switches the numbers of their varieties at least every other year which gets annoying when you find something that works well it disappears. Our yields have been good with Pioneer(we have had three good weather years out of four though),and haven't had a problem with lodging. Our corn is all between 85-97 day so we may not have the height or ear weight to deal with like some of you guys in Il or IA. last year I got a 10-12% early order discount and two "Free" sample bags. When we only plant 60 acres that rally helps us on our seed bill. We put some DeKalb in this years plot too, it looks good too.

local farmer came to the neighbor this past weekend and asked him to come look at some Dekalb 50-20. It was yellow between the rows, it shed about 25% of the ears.

Beware, got suckered in the buy one get one free this year on soybeans. Get one free was labeled 85% with Cruiser Maxx Pak, should have known better. 52% germed in my paper towel. Replanted the field with their half priced replant, thank Goodness they came up. Everyone around here who planted that variety bulk or bag replanted it, half price, brought it right up to good seed at regular price. Their corn never yielded for me so I don't plant it. Thought I would try the beans, what a mistake. And now I have all this wheat seed ordered. It better come up! No more Pioneer for me. They call it p__no seed in Ky, now I learned why.
