I can personally vouch for these guys. They have been very helpful and courteous to the farm I worked on this summer. Always willing to help, and very knowledgeable.

The cheap sornheads you will find will have an orange frame, tehse are ok but a bit harder to work on, older as well. They progressed into the black frame series from there, I have an A 240 head on my K2, these are somewhat of an updated model from the orange ones. The last Allis Chalmers heads to my knowledge are the three stripe ones, they are black frame and have Allis-Chalmers and three stripes on each outer side of the galvanized part, these are worth more yet. If you get a greenstripe head, it will say Deutz-Allis and means it is of 86-87 vintage, worth more yet. Hope this makes sense and helps.

I have a 4-38 Black that will be for sale after we shell about 12 more acres, which might take till the ground freezes here in central Missouri. Nothing wrong with it, we are changing to 6-30 next year. It would be ready to shell several hundred acres without and rebuilding, chains rollers and sprockets seem to be fine shape. It was said to be a 79 model when we bought it. They probably didnt build many after 1980, by then the hot thing was 6-30 for these machines and 4-30 if you had narrow tire set. We could load or deliver within a few hundred miles if you had a way to unload. A 100hp tractor and loader will lift it off trailer. let me know, Gary 816-252-8243

I have an A438 orange stripe that we haven't used in a few years. I will ask Dad if he wants to part with it. It is in good shape, just some rust on the tin but everything below that is in good shape.
