Combines gleaner custom harvesters

Thanks for that. I was realy curious if you had installed the extended helical over the feeder opening and how many reverse bars for them bars can take a ton of power in green stems. I sold a set of sweeps to a guy in heavy green bean area for last fall but as luck would have it it ended up a dry harvest. He did claim the material flowed threw much more even going by the spread of residue coming off of spreader. Terry at St John has some super results out of his design also. Good luck with your CIH for I'm sure they are a fine machine also.

This custom harvester must be looking at the efficiencies of harvesting and seeding at the same time!!! lOl--- silver seeders

There's lots more silver machines out on the trail than you think! If I only grew wheat and similar crops, my combine would be silver.

I did a lot of research into what color of combine would do a good job on many different types of harvesting. Sure some are great for a man who only raises corn and beans. Some do a fair job on small grains, but shread up the straw so bad that it is hard to bale for bedding livestock. Some require a lot of conversion to go from one crop to the next. For a guy who has corn and beans, needs small grains for rotation and cover crops, and needs a machine light enough to stay on top in a wet year, the old standard gleaner can not be beaten. Today everyone thinks speed. If quality is important look to the silver one.

Had an interesting experience a few years ago! Took a sample of malting barley [ 2 row barley only is malted in Australia ] down to our major grain handling facility some 30km's down the road, to test for protien, skinning and etc. The testing stand operator, who we did not know, looked at the sample and asked" What model Gleaner have you gotIJ" We were a bit stunned and asked him how in the h--l he knew it was a gleaner. "They always bring in the best sample and have the least skinning of any combine. I can pick it just by looking at the sample" was the reply. Made us feel good but we all know it is the operator that can make or break a combines performance. May-be Gleaners just make it easier for the operator. Cheers.
