The Peace district in northern Alberta is big on grass seed. Dohn (service manager) at Grande Equipment (Gleaner) is a good guy to look to. I'll email you his phone n.

Dan-Fesque is the main grass in our area and the Gleaner Rotary seems to do a reasonable job according to customers I've talked to.You do need a small seeds kit which will consist of upper and lower wind tunnel perforated plates. Some of our guys use them in canola as well, but only block off the one channel. Can't help you much on brome.I will check around though. randy from grande equipment ltd

Sent you an e-mail with some info as to my experiences with grass seed, and the mods I had to do. It came back as undeliverable. Please verify your e-mail address or e-mail me to give me the correct address, and I'll resend the message. Thanks- RW

Thank again Randy, Very good to get your info on Blue grass for it seems like it would be the most challenging for all the info I was able to gather so far. We had played with small seeds kit over the years now and then when Flax and some other small seeds were around. I'd rather not monkey with that kit so I'm very interested in blanking fan intake instead of in duct dampers. As you are running a pair of N6's and other main thing you did was to install longer rear distribution auger trough to move some crop away from left side of shoe it sounds very EZ. Thanks for comparison on how well you do against a couple other colors conventional or rotary. I know you are running the older N6's which has a tendency of less overthreshing (if helicals are keeping control of straw)as of the newer P3 systems. Gleaner started getting a bad rep in these crops that can be overthresher when P3's came around. As time goes along we have got the P3 less and less aggresive which we need for most of our crops and haven't had to go back to more aggresive for anything yet. I think this aggitator pusher bar will be one of the final pieces to puzzle to be able to run any crop well. Info I got suggests that the Fescue, Brome, Rye will be little problem but the Bluegrass needs to be windrowed for just the right amount of time and humidity just right ect. ect. so we will set machine up as close as possible and give it a try. Thanks again. I don't see where webmaster has updated my email yet so I may just regester.

Thanks to you too Randy and to Doug at Blue Mountain ag in Idaho. Doug is a wealth of knowledge for not only has he worked with Bluegrass but they do it on hills where you can't hardly walk for the steepness. Doug has a very good handle on running these Gleaners without hillside levelers in grass and doing a very fine job. Hard to beat that. Thanks again
