If wheat could go to $20 how high can corn go if Iowa is still less than 10% planted next weekIJ Consumers have yet to see REAl food price inflation...

Good post, Ron!!! Algore made his objective that was to win a Nobel Prize along with the $1,000,000 that went along with it. Now he can sit back and enjoy the rest of his life without having to work very hard. Some have said he isnt very bright which may be true but he can laugh all the way to the bank. This year will be the first where we have to cut the lawn before getting into the field. And we arent even close to doing any fieldwork.

This is crazy! In Oz, southeastern Australia, we have just had the coldest summer since 1952. Other little stats which I have forgotten just now have also indicated the coldest this or that. And guess what! My local beaches have the same water level they have had for the last 50 years. ROM. I see your food shortage predictions are starting to make major press. I see in the States that Wal Mart is rationing rice. Maybe someone over there could comment on the situation.

Although not an ideal spring, we have been able to plant our spring wheat and are nearly halfway on our corn here in SW Minnesota. We sure do need some heat units to get things going now. I heard that the Minnesota average temp for April was 3 to 5 degrees below normal as well as wetter than normal. We will see what May brings. As to Walmart rationing rice, I think the rice in question is imported Basmati rice, technically grown only in the Punjab area of Pakistan and India. Both of these countries have blocked at least some rice exports, so Walmart really didn't have much choice.
