Have you considered an A85IJ Not that an R75 would do a bunch but the 85 looks to be quite a machine.

Just something I heard today! The A85 you need to change concaves between different crops!!! (I hope Im wrong!!) Also I have witnessed a R75 with 36 ft draper with Bison and pretty much every upgrade you can do to it (Cummins M11 at 350+ HP) in a 6.5 to 7 ton a hectare barley crop doing around 8 to 10 kms_hr with very low rotor loss (15 to 20 Kgs_Ha) and no sieve loss. I bet you could pick up a cheap 05 R75 and still do all the mods with Bison rotor and still be in front $ wise! PS: Theres a R75 going round, Down under with a 50ft wide draper on it!!!! Rolf

You should not have to change concaves on the 85's. It is the same design, only larger, then my Challenger 660, and we don't change concaves for corn and beans. Might have to put filler plate on outside of the first or second concave for small grain or add wires to first one. If it is a corn and soybean combine they remove some of the wires on the first two concaves so you get more of the grain out of the rotor quicker.

Thanks for clarifying that cvf. A couple of guys around here have moved from axial flow machine to R series Gleaners so they don't have to change concaves! I told my dealer that they won't sell any A 85 machines around here if that what you had to do!! Also I have seen a couple of photos of the A85's and they seem very bigIJ Not sure a contractor would want to lug that around the country or walk them up and down the road with the big high grain box up there!! Setup a R75 (Or 72 for that matter) with Bison and upgrades and you will need an extra semi over and above what you use now to keep the grain away. Plus reduced fuel consumption and smoother on all the drives, and bale able straw out the discharge as well. My thoughts Rolf

The A85 at the Iowa farm show had removable wires for different crops. There was a cover plate to hold them in, take the plate off and slide the wires out.

Guys , just to let you know it was a Case 8010 with the 50 ft front on not a R75! sorry!! didn't check my facts first!! Rolf

If I did my conversion right I get 1_8 to 1_4% of the yield loss. Was your count that evening after nothing more than set in the yard or did you guys do some tuning in the morning. We're you working the engine when traveling 5-6MPHIJ I wonder because this machine is still set at factory specs of 330HP and maybe weak at that because we could only top out at 26 PSI turbo boost and 140PSI fuel pressure when pushing very hard. Oh and by the way it was absolutely great to meet you and Max at JR's farm. I had a great time and I am sorry I was to lazy to get up to see you off the next day. JR is all ready working on meeting again so we'll see you then. I thank JR and his family for putting together such a great picnic and getting all of us together. What great memories!!!!
