Combines Got my new Massey literature yesterday

How many pages is the brochureIJ I have one on the series before but it is only a couple of pages. For as much as people brag them up, I thought AGCO should have represented the XP better. I got my gleaner R75_65 yesterday 2 months after requesting it and I was pleased that it consisted of more than 4 pages. I am going to request some MF combine lit soon.

It's pretty depressing. About 4 pages and that is it. I'm like you, for the bragging I have heard about on that xp there should of been alot more lit. about it. like you also, I ordered this imformation about 2 months ago. Finally got it on Friday to be exact. There's only a couple pictures of the inside of the cab and one of them is of the dash above you where all your sensor lights are. 1 of the fieldstar setup. It's really a plain jane advertisment and I would of thought they could had put more into it to make a guy intersted or at least taught him something about it. My lexion imfo I got several years ago was very detailed. Agco lit wasn't very impressive. But, I still think, if you can buy a massey machine, you should be able to have your plat massey colors..........(shrug) Minor detail, but we are talking over 100,000 dollars. To me that is still alot of money. Buy alot of land compared to 1 piece of depreciated iron.

I,ve received both the R65-75 and the Massey 9690-9790 brochures the other day and i have to say the Massey brochure doesn't inspire me to go and have a look at one or order it all. It does make me ask what is the cleaning shoe area,what is the fuel tank size,what are the tyre (tire) sizes, but it does say more importantly it has a turret auger ("wow") which i can see from the few photos but can't see the cleaning shoe area, etc: Does the effort in the brochure reflect Agco's effort in the MasseyIJ The gleaner brochure is much much much more professional.

Tends to make a fellow think that they are trying to just phase these combines out like they did the steiger.............then went back and put the steiger name on a red and silver 4wd. let's see........a brochure that don't tell squat. A rotor design that looks to not have been changed in umpteen years. The platform carries it's sister combines colors and you cannot get it painted red I will assume otherwise you would of thought they would of shown that in the brochure. Really makes me think agco is pushing more on the gleaner than the massey and have intentions of someday dropping it. May make alot of people irritated but from what I'm hearing now and seeing on my own makes me come to these conclusions.

Well, guys, fortunately the guys who build and design these combines are not the same ones who print the literature. I agree that the new combine literature is less than exciting. However, the changes to the machine are substantial. The rotor design is significantly different, as is the cleaning shoe. Cab is entirely new, as is the entire 9790. The design as a whole remains efficient and simple. Thank goodness at least one of these crazy manufacturers still uses common sense in design. The literature could certainly be improved, but I suspect there will be a better piece coming. There were no pictures of corn_soybean harvesting that I can recall in the piece so I would imagine it was just a temporary piece for this year. Hopefully that is the case. I certainly don't think AGCO is considering dropping the MF in favor of the Gleaner. If anything, quite the opposite. It was the MF that received probably the most substantial upgrades in these new machines; not the Gleaners. And the MF design much more easily lends itself to a class 8 machine, when and if AGCO decides to build it. Wouldn't base the machine on its literature; it is impressive enough in real life

How about you guys do a lil work on your own searching for stuff, instead of constantly complaining, The literature they have is probably premature, this is a totally redesigned machine and Im glad they put more work in designing it than making cute literature. Go to your local dealer and find out where you can watch them demo one maybe. I will include a link to a photo site where they have many pictures of the new beast. If you contact your dealer he will put you on the subscription list for Massey's monthly magazine, which the current issue has many pics and articles on the 9790, and even an article on a farmer with a 8780 with a hillco set up

I don't buy that premature stuff because JD (in my area) always have full blown literature after introduction of a new product. Not only that, the literature I picked up last year for the 8780 has only a couple of pages and that combine had been on the market long enough for Massey to develop a better brochure. I realize brochures mean nothing as far as how the machine performs but it just seems like MF should put more effort into their brochures like the other combine companies.

JD's strength has always been in sales and marketing while MF has been in performance and durability. I'd rather have a better combine than a pretty booklet. Then again, JD has such marketing prowess that I am convinced they could say the world was flat instead of a globe and most people would believe them! I talk to a guy once in a while who is a rep for AGCO and he confirmed what I said, that the literature you have is preliminary in nature and that there is supposed to be a really nice piece coming out soon. Stay tuned.

last time I ordered literature from AGCO it took over 2 months to recieve it. So if I request some now maybe they will have a bigger brochure by the time I recieve it.
