We've been running blank out plates on our rotors since 2001, greatest thing, simple idea really, doubled our capacity in canola. Have you tried the air foil chafferIJ I saw it on their web page, would like to talk to someone whose used it. Where are you fromIJ
I think you are referring to the Claas TM6 sieve. It is similar to an air foil. I thought about getting a set but harvest was nearly over. I will have a set for next year. My dealer told me that the results from their use was that it constantly remained clean (no corn cobs lodging and other material hairpinning between the louvers). Material flow was also to be much better, allowing the sieve to have a bit more capacity. It also was easier to set and clean up the grain tank and caused almost no loss at any of the corn and bean settings. I can also see some major advantages to it in very dry wheat straw too.
Are there any crops or conditions where you might find that sieve to be a disadvantageIJ If you installed one, do you think you'd ever be switching between the twoIJ We thresh wheat, barley, oats, grass seed, flax, canola, beans and peas.
