It's possible that the problem is electrical noise from the altenator or blower motor. The older they get the more likely that electrical noise would be interfering with the coast guard beacon. Easiest way to test is to look at the SNR with the combine stopped and everything turned off, then turn anything electrical on checking the SNR, finally start the engine and engage the rotor etc and check the SNR.
