I have mentioned this in a much earlier post. In Australia, there are at least a couple of sheet metal shops that specialise in extremely wear resistant stainless steel sheet components for combines of all colours. Any stainless sheet parts come ready to fit. They are located in the irrigated rice growing areas as rice has a reputation as one of the most abrasive crops you can put through a combine. I am surprised, that considering the size of the US market, nobody ever mentions a shop that specialises in stainless components for combines. [ The total crop acreage for all crops in Australia, 50,000,000 acres, would fit comfortably into Kansas, 52,000,000 acres. We often wonder whether your farm leaders are ignorant or are deliberately misleading you when they make some fairly outrageous claims as to the dangers of Australia's competition in the world markets. We have NO goverment supports of any type for our cropping industries! Our population, 20 mill. is too small to support a subsidy system, so agriculture in Australia takes its chances on the world market. It has made us lean and hungry! ] Apologies for the lecture. Cheers.
