does it happen when moving from field to fieldIJ If so just open up ur screens and crank the air for a couple minutes so the chaff and stuff will get all cleaned out just in case some is sitting on the shaker pan.. also it could be your running your air too low.

No. It happens when you are cutting. The fan speed is around 1000 RPM or higher. Have tried changing fan speed. Did not help.

Have seen something about on the NH's with the hydraulic fan drive that new software would leave the fan on longer when shutting down the machine because the fan would stop long before the separtor slowed down causing grain to fall into the fan chanber. Otherwise I couldn't say. Have yet to see one of the new shoes with hyd fan in the field here. Old shoe worked well enough as long as guys stayed out of +30% moisture corn.

I've seen it happen a number of times in corn. It happens from turning off a full machine for me, or not letting the seives clean out enough I've gotten pretty good at taking the fan apart to clean it out, the fan holds about 2 bushel. My 88 would do the same thing at the right time.

Hi I had the same problem this year, check that you have the wright pre sieve in and that your sieve is not to open ,The other thing is to put a rubber on the back of the bottom and back of the bottom sieve so it hanges from the sieve and lies on the grain pan so it stops the air coming out gap and it has to go through sieve.

The correct presieve is in. The smallest one you can get. It is shut. What good does it do to have a presieve if it is shut the whole wayIJ Explain more on your rubber flap. How does taht keep from grain getting in the fan.

By blocking off the gap at the back of the bottom sieve it forces the air to go through the sieve when it gets over loaded instead of taking the easy way out the gap.It dosn`t seem to have anything to do with stopping with a full combine as it use to happen after you had cleaned it out and before you stopped again. It was not a big problem getting grain in the fan but was better after putting the rubber in .

We also suffer from this problem. What we doe is: 1 Reduce MOG on sieves by setting up rotor and cage 2 increase fan speed to max and then reducing by 5 or 1 rpm until first chaff appears in bin. So far it worked but still would be nice to eliminate this problem. I thind we shal try to play with rubber covers like OPEl suggested
