the new fan will get grain in it if the sieves are too far closed, or you dont get enough air to the sieves. make sure that the fan cut-off door is closed - otherwise it greatly diminishes the amount of air getting to the sieves. also check to make sure that the blades of the fan are clean - i've seen these fans get choked up with bean dust.
