I've found these things to be very finicky. The way they're supposed to be set is with the pointer on the white line when you like what you see behind the machine at normal run conditions. The large dot should be right for corn. The numbered dial should be set wherever the reading is right on the normal run. You also have a chaffer_rotor_both switch. if it's set anywhere but both it'll read low (unless your loosing grain fairly significantly) . This monitor is ground speed sensitive. Given the same loss at higher ground speeds it'll read lower. The only thing that should concern you is, when you get it set where you want it, if it goes high. That indicates trouble. Erratic readings can also indicate sensor, wiring, or monitor problems as well. Hope this helps.
