i have a fabricating shop make me new bottoms from heavier galvanized sheet metal. He is able to form the bottoms perfectly and they slide right in. i remove one end of the bin and slide the repair piece in. i use heavy mon-bolt style rivits and attach them at the top edges. there are a lot of little things i do to make them work but that is the short version. they look good and they last forever.where are you locatedIJ we have shipped them. We have a sheet metal shops here in Oz that specialises in making replacement sheet metal components out of stainless steel for all coloured combines. Their business is mostly in the rice growing areas due to the extreme abrasiveness of rice whilst harvesting. I am suprised that something similar is not mentioned in the states as it is the way to go on high wear sheet metal components.

i took my unloading auger off completely and traced the floor bottom onto cardboard. went to a machine shop and had them bend the form out of stainless steel. ran four years with no problems and cannot see the wear. punched holes before we put it in as to it being hard drilling and pop riveted the ss into place.

Previous owner of R-72 had put on 500 sep. hours-all soybeans. I do not know how many bushels he did with it. I do know he ran a fair amount of dirt in machine. It now has about 1800 sep. hours. We've put just over 1.1 million bushels of corn and 250,000 bushels of soybeans through it since we bought it. R-60 has no sep. tach. Previous owner had about 800 engine hours on it in corn and soybeans. We have just over 3,000 now. Our corn total is about 1 million and soybeans 220,000 on this machine. Both bottoms are pretty worn and need some attention before next harvest. Neither have leaked yet but if it wouldnt be for the framework on the unload auger side grain would be pouring out. I see a company by the name of poly tech has inserts for the bottom of gain tanks for Case-IH machines. Sounds very easy to install and like a real solution. Im going to give them a call to find out if they make any for Gleaner. I like the sound of vstk's fix but had heard these poly inserts we really easy to install and I'm feeling kinda lazy.

Try "Header And Ag Parts Australia" at Yoogali, just east of Griffith. Saw them at Horsham Field Days. Their stuff looked OK. Sorry, haven't got the contact details. Just had between one and three inches of rain north of Horsham with most of the wheat still to go! SIGH!! Who would want to be a farmer!

looks like one out of a R65-75 will fit right in the 72. After you bolt the ends down you'll need to do some drilling for the rivets and extra bolts. The number is 71395979 for about $60 US. Don't know about a prefabed one for R60 but could maybe copy the way they do it for new machines if you can't find one. Good luck
