Had the same deal with our 62 good in corn, so-so in beans, bad in wheat. we ran sep. grate 1 to 1.5 closer to match rotor after much experimenting. crop seemed to ball up under sep. side. finaly pulled rotor andwent to aftermarket 25 in rotor --much better.

Which rotor did you go to posumIJ We put a CDF in an older R62 without the adjustable separator grate and have similar questions, but without the option to adjust the separator grate.

Went with a rotor from precision farm parts. It has bars kind of like the case-ih rotor and on a spiral pattern. It is 25 in. dia. like the old 8-bar rotor. Has worked well for us in wheat corn and soybeans.

I have the CDF and I do usually leave the adj. grate 1 no. closer in all crops because of the 1_4" difference (modified). I also have my cdf modified somewhat but it works well in all crops. I run steep pitch over thresher and every other bar off on the seperator side to tumble the crop. I have 1_4" flat steel under each row to make it a 24.5 inch rotor. I never run reverse bars.
