Combines Green flex heads on 8570

Hi Sorehands, I run a deere 920 flex header on my 850 and like it better than the 9118 it replaced. But if you want to inprove feeding don't waste your money on a finger style auger head put an AWS air reel on your old head. Short crops will still bunch up in front of the JD auger because the distance between the knife and auger is longer on the green head than the red one. I think the best flex head you could possibly build would consists of a JD head fitted with a AWS manifold style air reel and a UII pick up reel behind it.

Thanks, Goob. I'm checking into the price of the AWS. Probably not much more than the $ for a header attachment adapterIJ I've looked at the Crary finger reels, and they are a bit rich for my blood.
