Growing marijuana for medicinal purposes

I came across an article that made a strong case about allowing home cultivation of marijuana because it is ultimately a plant that absorbs nutrients, drinks water, absorbs sunlight and grows sticky flowers. In some places, it is legal for medical marijuana patients to grow cannabis (which is among the most lucrative cash crops). Should states reconsider home cultivation laws?

Yes, they should. But if people want to sell the movers and shakers on this idea, they should put less emphasis on how it is good for the earth and more emphasis on how it can be good for the pocketbooks of everyone involved.

I agree because there is minimal mention of how lucrative the crop is, and more how beneficial it is medicinally. Either way, is this something that anyone can achieve in the short-term?
