Vendor quality was an issue, but should have been passed by now. They had an improved shaft that was offered in an update kit, but the shaft was too hard thus brittle. Those were changed out supposedly. Check it out on agcopartsbooks.com sign in as guest and look at 8000 and 8200 as well as notes.

How's your feeder workIJ Running reverser muchIJ I relate alot of the feeder shaft and header gudgeon failures to the stresses of reverser and engaging header at high RPMs. And yes like tbran says AGCO did make a couple changes to try help these gudgeon live threw all this (at least one flawed way which is hopefully flushed out by now). Best to address what could be stressing that gudgeon.
