Combines hammering sound in 1460

Is it fast enough to be the elephant ears striking on the bearing supports at the front..IJ I have had a rock strike cause that, but it was a fast tick in time with rotor speed rather than a hammering. But it certainly depended on the orientation of the machine whether it did it or not Take the semi circle cover off and look for scuffs on the front edges of the ears... You may also be able to see enough through the spring loaded door at the base of the feederhouse where it meets the rotor intake area Good luck and keep us informed

I've had the semi circle cover off with the hi_lo gear box in neutral and hand spun the rotor and it makes no noise at all. The definition of hammering is pure interpretation only but I will say that the more the machine is leaned to the right, the louder it gets. Once the machine is level or slanted the other way, it goes away. If you make a hard left hand turn it will make the noise till the momentum force goes away after you straighten out. I will reinspect the ears closer though. Thanks.

Does this occur when the rotor has a working load on it, or at all timesIJ Have you tried moving the machine around with the rotor out of gearIJ

Is there a chance one or more of the sieve bushings is getting enough wear to allow contact with the side of the machine..

check your cab mounts they may have broken you can get more room under the cab by raising it with the

Well, I think I'm getting it narrowed down. I switched to corn, opened up the concaves (I run them fairly close on beans) and the hammering is gone. So either I have a loose concave, a fractured rasp bar pad (its a special rotor) or a loose rasp bar. I replaced all the shaker bushings 200 hrs ago and the shoe arms don't appear to be rubbing or striking anything. The cab mount thought interests me because it looks like the front of the cab sags forward just a touch. I'll check those too. Thanks for all the ideas and WHEN I find the actual culprit, I'll fill you all in. Again, Thanks!
