You might look for white smoke while cranking, that will tell you if you're getting fuel to the cylinders or not. White smoke would indicate you're getting fuel but it's not firing because of lack of heat or a loss of compression. No white smoke with hard starting would indicate you're not getting fuel to the cylinders. Good luck.

Check the screen in your sediment bowl. I had that same alarm until I cleaned that screen. It did not help the starting though. My 81 F2 started rough even in warm weather. Pete Hinrichsen

those fuel restriction lights were a pain. Ground the wire to make sure electical is ok. light should go out. light should go out with a new sender. If it flickers and comes on under load you do have a fuel restricion. See post below. The 433t and I were lOW compression engines. Designed that way as they turned a lot of HP and torque with high boost levels. Some engineer thought that the engine would live longer with 14_1 compression ratio. last production engines had higher compression ratio and smaller hole injector tips to help cranking. I said help not cure. But once you get those little buggars cranked!!! Neat help is to order the smallest ether nozzel available - one off a 8765 - and replace the std nozzel or simply take punch and close up the hole some. The engine will crank without that dredded knock. A little dab will do the trick.
