what settings are you at nowIJ I talked to a deere harvest support guy last week. he was tellin me that alot of problems w_ losses and samples are due to the fact that we are trying to run the sts like a walker machine. high speed cyl, and tight concave. open her up,slow down rotor and keep her full. don't have any of your kind of wheat, but did have some jagalene i thought was tough to get clean, till i went to 790 rpm on rotor, concaves at 12 wind at 1170 and ground speed at 3.1 to 3.2mph this was in 70 to 80 bu. He also said if you can keep from having to use cover plates or grate covers you'll be better off. also will say i was dropping the straw. and being baled by a vermer 605 K and also a 567 john deere. would like to hear more on how you turn out, good luck mit

Hey mit9750 , Thanks for the advise. I'm gunna try that tomorrow if the weather holds ! You said it, we were trying to run it faster and tighter as the day went on but nothing seemed to work as well as the cover plates did. Had a 9450 behind me and he had his hands full trying different things. I was talking to the neighbour down the road who had the same variety and he was cursing the Axial Flow also. Didn't feel so bad after that !!!! letcha know how that works for us.
