I'm from central ND. It's not much better here. There isn't to much profit left on the canola after 100+ MPH winds and hail. It looks like the only ones making any money in agriculture this year is going to be the auctioneers!

We definently do need a miracle. I am 20 years old, started farming when I was a junior in high school, and I really do love what I am doing-farming. Unfortuantly the way things look there won't be anybody out here in another couple of years. look through the ag papers, all of these farm auctions are not retirement sales, they are producers who should be at their prime, forced out of buisiness by low prices and poor quallity. You know that these producer's sons and daughters will not be coming back to the farm. I look around our area and I am the only young producer around and that scares me. I have nothing against running a fairly good sized farm, but there are limits to how much land you can take on to support yourself. All I know is that something has to happen fast because young farmers are becoming few and far between.

I farm in Alberta , I am a young producer, 27 , have been farming for 10 years. If you guys think it is hard farming were you are try it in canada. We have absolutly no subsidies... our fuel is $2.10 _gallon , all our machinery is bought in U.S dollars , and our dollar is worth 67 cents. the price of n1 durum here is $2.24 CANADIAN. that is $1.50 U.S.

I agree us young guys should take action on the prices of not just the grain but everything else too its just getting out of control and for us young guys its just not going to add up right. And pretty soon there is not going to be any young farmers out the and thats just going to hurt the harvesting business wich Im getting started in and hows that going to work for me with no producers to work with. So I agree with all of you we definetly need to do something about this.
