Combines Harvest in snowIJ

I have picked corn a few times in the snow. It works fairly well if it is less than 30 degrees. But if the snow gets soft, then it will stick on the chaffer and sieves and will plug them up. Everything goes a lot better without the snow!

I have done a few acres in snow, but this year we were not done until Jan 5th. Fall was wet and a lot of 100% humidity days would not let the corn dry down. We don't run dryers because is not usually a problem. Corn on the ground no big deal, when it is on the ear then everything slows down, or plugs up in header and sieves. I am in south central Idaho, one other thing we always try to get the end rows out on the pivot fields so the snow will blow in and not stack up. We plant east to west with the wind directon.
