Have only had 3 or 4 times in the last month or bettter with 2 or 3 sunny days in a row. Have only had about 3 or 4 chances to make any hay since labor day.

If the field is evan in maturity than I would direct cut it. Shattering is not a problem with diract cutting or swathing.I don;t think rain is a big problem with swathing safflower.good luck

The market for soybeans is in Portland just like wheat.lots of the soybeans in the midwest go to Portland buy rail we have a frieght advantage over the midwest.Hillco does not make a lateral tilt for a 8570.It would be a big job to put Hillco leveling on a 8570 because the final drives are different. If you could find a 8780 in good shape you could buy a kit and put it on. I used a Macdon swather for my safflower,I had some weeds and it would have been a tough harvest with out swathing.

I took a feed house ext. and cut it in half welded two plates put a pivot pin on top and a hydraulic cylinder to move the header. There was another cylinder on the swing frame of the leveling when it moved the header moved.there was one more paddel in the feed house. I will try to get some pics before I go to the FFA conve with two of my daugters next week in INDY.
