Are you doing a good job now or having trouble with timeliness and qualityIJ If you are able to do a good job and have all the needed equipment in your possesion and in good condition, there is really no need to drop it all and hire someone that that has no real interest in your crop other than going over the acres. On the other hand, if you can't get the job done there is really nothing to lose.

Depends. How many acres do you need to combine each yearIJ Can you afford to wait till a custom harvester gets to your cropIJ What is the going rate for custom harvesting in your area. Can you find one that will do a job that your happy withIJ How about trucks, dryers, storage, hired help,ect. You have to look at all the factors and chose the option that costs you the least amount of money, including tax and interest.

I'm new to this and my fiance has an older Case. After going through a set back due to a divorce he is using this older combine to get his crops out. What is happening though, is he is spending time fixing the thing as oppose to getting the crops out no matter what. He still have soybeans in the field. I asked him if it would be beneficial to hire it done. He really didn't give me an answer. How long can you let the beans sit before it become evident that you have to get some help. I think it's bold face pride on his part.
