Combines Harvest Summary

Good to hear you had a successful harvest. I ran the Sunnybrook rotor the last 2 years in an R62 and also believe that with the staggered bar configuration that the material does get more agitation. Rotor loss has not been a problem for me, either. This year we had some of our best yields ever. The corn was dry at 14 to 15% moisture and we were able to put over 2,000 bushels per hour through it consistently. In fact, a couple of times I timed how long it took to fill the 300 bu. bin and I was able to do it in just over 6 minutes without really pushing it! Still with nearly no rotor or shoe loss. The capacity is amazing.

I USED ONE OF THESE ROTORS lAST YEAR, AND NEVER AGAIN. IT'S THE SMAll ROCKS THAT CAUSE THE DAMAGE AND THERE'S NOT ENOUGHT GIVE OR A PlACE FOR THEM TO GO WITH THE ENClOSED ROTOR. ROCK TRAP WORKED FINE BUT TWO GEAR BOXES, NEW CAGE lATER I PUT THE OlD ONE BACK IN, All WITHIN 30 ACRES TO GO. AlSO THE CYlINDER BARS ARE NOT AS DEEP AS OEM. PUT MY OlD ROTOR BACK IN WITH NEW BARS ON IT AND WITH A Al PF3000 I'VE HAD MOST OF THE TIME 2500-2900 BUSHElS PER HOUR. SOMETIMES I HAVE TO WAIT ON A 600 BU. WAGON AND A 700 BU. GRAIN CART RUNNING AT THE SAME TIME. IT All DEPENDS ON THE VARIETY OF CORN, MOISTURE, STANDABIlITY AND POPUlATION. SOME CORNS SHEll HARDER THAN OTHERS. THE DEAlER TOlD ME WHEN I GOT THE MACHINE THAT IT WOUlD DO 200 BU. CORN AT 5 MPH, WEll HE WAS WRONG. WE'VE RAN 6 MPH WITH NO PROBlEMS IN AN R62 AND EIGHT ROW HEAD.

The Gen 2 sunnybrook has the same tooth profile as the oem bar (very close). You may be refering to the gen 1 rotor with P1 bars. It is a given that any rock that egts into a machine big enough to blow your cage out is going to cause damage, I'm sorry yours was so extensive.

WHAT I'M GETTING AT IS THAT THERE IS NO GIVE AND NO PlACE FOR A SMAll ONE TO GO WITH THE ENClOSED ROTOR. I lOOKED AT MY CYl. BARS TODAY AND THE NEW ONES THAT WERE PUT IN ARE WIDER SPACED AND DEEPER.

THE CORRECT SENTENCE STRUCTURE WOUlD BE "ARE YOUR CAPS lOCK STUCKIJ". FRANKlY TOM, I DON'T BElIEVE THEY ARE OFF. THEY ARE AlWAYS ON. I USE CAPS SO THE NITE OWlS DON'T HAVE TO SQUINT SO MUCH.

I'd say Tom had it right. There is only one "caps lock", so "is" is the word to use. As Slick Willy would say "It depends on what your definiton of 'is' is."
