JD row head, set of Hesston Headhunters if you can find them, or hume reel and pickup teeth are some options.

The JD row head running with auto header height control is the best way to go. However, if you want to use Heston Headhunters, we have 7 units that we would sell cheap. They came from a farm auction many years ago and have never been mounted since....look almost like new. Always shedded, my guess is they ran a few hundred acres max. They will mount on a rigid head and turn it into a row head. Hume reels with plastic teeth just get torn up because of the heavy stalks. The metal tooth reels do better, but you really need something that pulls the stalk in and rights the head, which is what the row head does.

I thought anyone who raised milo had a set of the great old Hesstons. They are nice to run! HAHA Although the varieties are lots better than they used to be about fallin down.

What row spacingIJ Have 8 rows on a 24ft 810 header plus a lot of extra hesstons.

I'd prefer the Hesstons simply because there are two points on them and they're closer to the rows. I guess it depends on how the milo is broke as to whether the JD will clean up like the Hesstons.

Anybody still remember the old roll-o-conesIJ They really didn't work too bad, some cases worked better than the Hesstons.
