I don't have any experience useing it but I looked at them pretty closley at the Farm Progress Show this year. I agree with you it looks like it should work and is very simple!! I believe the fellow from Hart-Carter told me it would run around $900 for a head up to 20ft. and would be double that for a larger head because you would have to put a system on each end of a larger reel. It actually is a lot simpler than a stock reel.

I was told that Gleaner bought a few kits. Might be just the ticket to compliment new heads when they show up.

I bought one to use on a 20 ft 500 head, It seemed like it worked well in that you could really put the reel back against the auger without fearing that the reel teeth would be hitting the auger all the time. It seemed to work well but I also found out that the dealer who sold me the head last year forgot to put the narrowing kit in the head so some of the increased ease of feed was from installing the kit. For what it is is sure looks overpriced when you get the parts to change your reel.
