Combines head carriers

Before buying any head trailer, you owe it to yourself to look at Cole Implements trailers. They are also a Gleaner dealer in Media Ill. 309-924-1191 The thing I like about Cole trailers is I can back up as easily as I would back up any 2-wheel trailer. Putting the head on the trailer and picking it off the trailer is easy as falling off a log, as dad would say. They make trailers for 8-row corn heads and up to 30 bean heads. I have a 25 bean head and I can back it into a building and into a corner without a lot of monkeying around, as you have to do with other trailers.

Matt, We've got one. It's for a 30' 500 head, haven't put our 8-30 hugger on it, though. Not a bad trailer for the money, could track down the road a little better, but we never go too far so it works out. Ours is green too, the head doesn't seem to mind. Busted a saddle on it one day, somebody got in a hurry. Not gonna mention names but his initials are Joe... This is not what you asked but, I had a head in the shop a month ago that came in on a Harvest Hand trailer. It was a trailer with a dolly wheel set up in the front and man it was pretty. A nice shiny black color too, so it would coordinate with the Hugger, or those other brands. The owner said she goes down the road real sweet. I could not get it to go backwards very well, though. I may have had better luck with a little practice and some better weather-I was trying to get it in before heating the whole outdoors. It is not, however, the economy model. But you get what you pay for, it looked well made. Joe

Sorry I cant help with pictures or a website. I bought mine 10 years ago from a relative and there was a trade involved so I have no idea what list price was.

Maybe more than what you want but we use a 30' Unverferth Roadrunner. Works great. You can see what they have to offer at unverferth.com. Other than that there are local machine shops that built very basic storage or short trip trailers. Don't know of anyone putting corn heads on them. You likely have some of them trailers built locally as well. Good luck

I've got a 30' Goldenbell trailer. It has the dolly wheels in the front. I can pull a head at 70 mph with no problems. I've actually been on Interstate 55 with this trailer and a 30 foot head before at 75 mph. No problems. They are made in Illinois just east of St. louis. Was about $2300 delivered to my door.
