I have heard of fan blades wearing down and not moving enough air. might ask your dealer about measurements on fan. Only a wild guess. Grain dust is pretty abrasive.

Had the same thing the other day on my 62. I put in a new sender and it hasn't come on since. You can check the sender in hot water with an ohm meter, but I've never tried it.

First check sender, wiring, etc... all the easy and cheap stuff. If that doesn't fix it you probably need a new fan. We had to replace ours at 2,400 hours. If you run in dirty conditions they won't even make it that long. The book should tell you the specs that the fan needs to be at. Don't forget to clean centrifugal oil filter when in there. Supposed to be cleaned every 1,000 hours but I don't think many clean them that often.

Had this on our "new" 1990 R40. It would buzz leaving the barn on a cold engine. Two days ago I cleaned the dust off the 3 sensors and wires and noticed bare wire next too the oil pan sensor. I didn't have time to check with my ohmmeter. Tonight the temp light started making noise again and with a flashlight I found dusty sensors and wiring. Tomorrow I'll tape that 1_4 inch of wire and see if I had a high resistance short. Hope this helps.

Tom, Your right it is not even mentioned in the manual. Not sure why it isn't listed, maybe they feel it isn't necessary to clean given the difficulty involvedIJ However, ours were packed pretty full of dirt and we will continue to clean at 1,000 hour intervals. It is somewhere inside of the fan. Not very easy to get at. We try to most of our own stuff but that looked too nasty for us so we had our dealer do it. If your looking for particular details ask at Smith's Mill Implement, they've done a bunch. I'm sure they would gladly share the details...probably more so than you bringing it in to have them do it :)
