Combines header feeding problems

Check to see if your fingers are extended far enough to pull everything up to the drum. If not, open the right hand cover on the header. There is a short section of pipe sticking out with bolts in it to hold it in position. You can loosen these bolts and use your rotor wrench to roll this pipe to extend the length of the fingers. Be careful not to go to far or your fingers will go into the sheet metal bottom on your header.

We had same problems in tough soybeans few years back, As other guy said, change position of header fingers on left side of header, Best i rember ours are set full extended about 110clock positon, Which i think is all the way back in the notch where you change finger time,,,, Also you might add a half link to feeder chain an get it with in 1 inch of feeder front to grab better, Hope this helps, If you have more questions email me,,, we have a 1680 with 25 foot header

I had this problem when I first started out with a stripper head. I had to lower the header auger to force it to bring the material to the feeder house at a more even rate. Good luck!

I own a 2366 Case IH and have had the same header feeding problems you describe I have developed a positive feed front elevator roller.We have done over 4,000 acres in a range of crops and it has not repeated once.In beans we have almost doubled our speed, in barley and canola it is exellent. It can be turned around to be more or less aggressive. I have not exported overseas yet, but if demand is there I will. Cost is around $600 for 66 series $700 88 series Australian plus freight. Other makes available. ps Hope this might help any one with feeding problems, let me know.

I tried flight extensions, serated bars, raising and lowering the front drum, advancing and retarding the retractable fingers, cutting lower (now there's a good way to burn horsepower) and a neighbour even got the gas axe out and cut the slots longer to push the front drum closer to the spiral, to no avail. It was not until I fitted stevens replacemnet front drum, the problem went away. Another neighbour with a 2388 thought he did not have a problem until he fitted stevens drum, but picked up an extra 10-20 % speed in swathed canola. I bought a new 2366 this year and the new drum will come out before the paint wears off.
